Pioneer 30G19 is a medium- to late-maturing hybrid maize developed by Corteva Agriscience (Pioneer Seeds), designed to deliver high, stable yields under both rainfed and irrigated conditions. It matures in about 130–140 days, producing large, uniform cobs with deep, semi-flint grains that are highly preferred for milling and storage.
The variety shows excellent drought tolerance and resistance to key maize diseases such as grey leaf spot, northern leaf blight, and rust. It also has strong stalks and roots, providing good standability and lodging resistance, even under heavy cob loads. Pioneer 30G19 performs well in medium to high fertility soils and responds strongly to proper fertilizer and weed management.
Under optimal conditions, Pioneer 30G19 can yield 9–12 tons per hectare, making it a top-performing hybrid for farmers targeting commercial grain production and consistent profits. Its proven adaptability and resilience make it one of the most trusted Pioneer hybrids across Zambia and other Southern African regions.
